ABOUT US

Indoor Air Pollution and Health Forum Nepal (IAPHF-Nepal) is a not for profit, non-governmental social development organization committed to the principle of indoor air pollution health and environment. IAPHF-Nepal was established in 2005 and registered at the district administrative office, Kathmandu under the social registration Act. It is also affiliated to Social Welfare Council (SWC).

Especially the organization has been active in indoor air pollution alleviation, health, environmental advocacy and awareness at local as well as policy level. It works in coordination and collaboration with governmental agencies from central to local level, Multilateral, Bilateral, International NGOs and NGOs.

In the forum, there are 45 members including multilateral organisation, non-governmental (I/NGO), private sectors and professionals. The number of members is increasing day by day.

 

Vision

Organization is centered on developing healthy indoor environment among Nepalese households.

 

Mission

Mission is to save people’s life, especially women and children who are vulnerable to the consequences of Household air pollution (HAP).

  

Goals and Objectives

  • The main objective is to advocate for socially excluded, pro-poor and appropriate policies and program to mitigate HAP. To increase access by poor marginalized and vulnerable households to cleaner fuels and technologies by working together with groups of professionals and organizations.  
  • Focus to raise awareness with joint efforts of the stakeholders including Media.

 

Focus Areas of the Programme

Especially it works in the area of women and child health, efficient cooking stoves (Indoor Air Pollution Alleviation Technologies), climate change adaptation/mitigation and environment, Policy advocacy, Advocacy on Gender and Energy, Research and study, Awareness program on household air pollution and health.
